Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School is the only junior high school in the district. The staff, teachers, and community strive to ensure all students have the academic and social tools they need in order to meet the standard and challenges ahead of them upon graduation. All teachers work together with the student body to ensure the success of each student both academically and socially.
The school prides itself on its group activities and the team spirit type atmosphere that is seen throughout the school with the interaction among not only the students but also the teachers and staff. Parents also have a very important role in the school with such committees as the PTSA and the Eagles Club.
The school has many activities that also provide students with the ability to grow their minds and their interests with such groups as class councils for grades 7th through 9th, art club, jazz ensemble, to name a few.
At Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School, teachers, and staff understand how this transitional time can be for students leaving elementary school and entering into junior high with their goal set on high school. Because of this transitional period Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School, offer a caring and nurturing environment, which provides not only educational needs, but social and emotional needs as well.
