Taconic Hills Elementary School is located at 73 County Route 11A Craryville, NY. This school serves the community of Craryville for its education needs for grades K through 4 in Columbia County, New York. This Elementary School is equipped with a full-day kindergarten, features a variety of early literacy experiences such as "big books," phonics, read-aloud sessions and journal writing, as well as story, poetry and letter writing, and age-appropriate research projects.

Taconic Hills Elementary School Mathematics and science classes make use of current events, seasonal calendars, weather maps, and a full range of individual and small group "hands-on" projects and experiments. The Elementary School also offers a "morning program," a brief weekly assembly of students and staff for a presentation or activity, as well as field trips to local sites, music and art courses with seasonal concerts and exhibits, physical education, library media center instruction and student use of multimedia computers.

Remedial reading and math instruction (Title 1 or PCEN) is given to those students who perform below expecta­tions for their grade level. Participation in the program may be based on group test results and/or teacher recommendation. If a child requires help, supplementary instruction is given individually or in small groups. The remedial programs supplement, but do not replace the child's regular classroom instruction in reading and math.
