Southwestern Middle School is located at 600 Hunt Road West East Jamestown, NY. This school provides educational opportunities for students in grades sixth through eight and its part of the Southwestern Central School District at Jamestown. Along with the community and family, the school strives to provide a safe and caring environment for each student to be able to achieve success in all they endeavor whether at school or out in their community. The City of Jamestown was incorporated in 1886 and the area provides wonderful local activities with many things to see and experience.

The staff and teachers alike realize all students can learn and are committed to providing a learning environment that will speak to the total student, which means they cater to the academic, emotional, social, cultural, and physical well-being of each and every student. The school prides itself on having caring teachers and staff that are responsible for encouraging every student to be resourceful, have respect for authority, and accept responsibility. Through the learning environment each every student will be able to reach his or her full potential.

Southwestern Middle School ensures that core curriculum is meaningful, innovative, and abides by the New York State learning standards. The curriculum coordinator works closely with administration, grade levels, and departments to ensure that curriculum is continually being reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted to meet the needs of students.
