School 30 teachers have an well thought-out plan for focusing on and providing students with feedback about productivity; e.g., working well with others, how to follow directions and meet deadlines, knowing where/how to go for help, how to develop a plan to complete major projects. Teachers communicate regularly with parents about expectations for quality student work, providing examples of rubrics and assignments, and communicating the grading system will include returning work to the student if it is not up to quality standard. The student will then be expected to analyze that work, with teacher help if needed, and revise it to higher quality.
School 30 has several nice educational programs that have been setup with the purpose of encouraging the growth and development of each child’s personal interest and capabilities. Teachers work to stimulate student’s intellectual interest through experiential learning; focusing on the skills needed to gather, analyze, and communicate information. The children are actively involved in extensive, hands on projects requiring the use of state of the art technology; enabling them to become productive citizens of an ever changing global society.
