Primary School number 052 Sheepshead Bay is a school community that serves grades PK, 0K, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and SE with the mission to meet the needs of children creating at a time a secure and safe environmet for studying. Meeting both the New York City and New York State standards to achieve academic excellence for General and Special Education students and English Language Learners.

Lifelong learners result of exposing children to arts in early childhood so Sheepshead Bay School provides students with special programs focusing in arts such as those from Make Books Sing, Two Too Far, and the Brooklyn Museum. There are also gifted and inclusion classes in all grade, chess instruction. an on-site Reading Recovery Teacher for first graders.

The School curriculum include extracurricular activities such as the annual Arts Festival, Authors' Read Aloud Program, Music Concerts, Screen Actors Guild (Book Pals), Student Roundtables (Penny Harvest) and Chess-in-the-Schools afterschool program.
