Primary School number 326 (K326) is considered an exemplary Early Childhood Center in the State of New York and renowned for nurturing a supportive school community attending a students population in grades PK, 0K, 01 and SE by means of cooperative work among administration, teachers, staff and parents working to accommodate children's interest and abilities to foster a sense of motivation and confidence.

Instilling love for learning, P.S. 236 promotes excellence in academic achievement through an Integrated Curriculum and Instruction Learning Support Organization that also includes extracurricular activities and special programs such as English as a Second Language, one full day Pre-Kindergarten, a gifted program and one after-school reading program for first graders.

This Primary School works closely with the Rockaway Artist Alliance in order to create a mural on the outside of the school that reflects its spirit, goals and mission, as well as several community agencies provide students with enriching learning activities.
