Primary School number 277 Gerritsen Beach serves grades PK, 0K, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and SE with the mission to cover the needs of the total school population in Brooklyn District 22 by providing a nurturing environment instilling self-esteem and confidence in each children.

Gerritsen Beach School promotes students' development using curriculum standards that contribute with their growth physical, intellectual, emotional and socially speaking. Parents and teachers work together to create an atmosphere of love with ethical values and exchange of ideas to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual.

Curriculum is enhanced with special programs such as the Eagle Gifted-talented, Wilson Reading, and Waterford Early Reading Programs. There is also a special program specialized in Marine Biology, Off-Site Marine Biology, Up River / Down River Program, Integrated Performing Arts and Project Arts.

P.S. 277 has a Classroom computer center and extracurricular activities ranging from Drama Performance to Outreach and after-school programs.
