Primary School number 236 Mill Basin School has a well-defined mission creating a nurturing environment for all children, including Special Educations, ELL, and high achieving students, in order to meet and exceed the academic standards. Helped by a collaborative community, P.S. 236 serves grades PK, 0K, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and SE.

Make students become lifelong learners is a task only achieved meeting a quality curriculum that is enhanced with extracurricular activities including Puppetry in Practice and Robotic Lego Projects for fourth graders. Mill Basin School also counts with special programs that include Author Visits, Project Arts, and Balanced Literacy in grades K-05.

There are four PCs with Internet access in every classroom as well as wireless laptop computers in use as a part of Academic Intervention Services in Reading and Math, Scholars Academy, Library Power, Reading Recovery, LRE Inclusion, SCIS Science, and Eagle II Gifted and Talented program.
