P.S. 233 has a long and proud history of community, industrial and business support. The school uses a comprehensive, integrated curriculum delivered in a nurturing and orderly environment by qualified staff that believes that all children can learn. P.S. 233 aims to develop in all students a desire to increase their knowledge and use this knowledge to the full extent of their potential in order to better understand them selves. Language Arts instruction continues to focus on the development of listening and speaking skills, reading and appreciation of fiction, poetry, prose, and wordplay, creative and composition writing, spelling, and handwriting. The language arts program offers students an orderly, developmental approach to acquiring skills for practical and creative expression. Students are encouraged to participate in school clubs and organizations. Being a member of a club or school organization can foster self-growth and learning, but more importantly it can be fun.
