P.S. 231 staff and teachers realize these years can be the toughest of students. The change from elementary school and the transition needed to enter higher school grades can be very discouraging for students that are not prepared. Because of this, teachers and staff work side by side to ensure each and every student can achieve their goal and succeed in all they endeavor from making friends to academics. All children are provided a foundation for students to reach their maximum potential through comprehensive, exact standards to opportunities to allow children to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens. There are several educational programs that are being used with the goal of encouraging the growth and development of every student’s personal interests and capabilities.
