P.S. 180 Hugo Newman School teachers make every effort to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. Teachers believe that the skills, knowledge, and personal competence students acquire in school should build success now and in the future. P.S. 180 curriculum coordinator works closely with administration, grade levels, and departments to ensure that curriculum is continually being reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted to meet the needs of students. Additionally, staff analyzes state and local test results as a means of changing curriculum and instruction. Technology integration and activities that provide opportunities for problem solving, students at every grade level gradually become accountable for their own learning. School P.S. 180 is Technology driven and strives to provide the best and most current technology, standards and equipment, for the educational development of their students and tools for both teachers and staff.
