P.S. 175 City Island School overall commitment to maintaining high academic standards and encouraging students to develop their own unique talents. It is a goal to continually expand the experience of students and to teach them to respect their own uniqueness as well as the uniqueness of others. Classic themes of respect, responsibility, kindness, and cooperation are integrated into all aspects of the P.S. 175 curriculum. Teachers all understand the importance of establishing a climate to learn and a climate where students are able to attain academic success because they are comfortable socially and emotionally in a nurturing environment. The school is filled with spirited and diverse students working together to attain academic excellence and personal success in a supportive environment. One of the objectives is to incorporate this multiplicity of experiences in order to create a P.S. 175 community of learners.
