P.S. 108 Sal Abbracciamento School has a rich learning environment for students who enroll there. The school is technology driven and strives to provide the best and most current technology, standards and equipment, for the educational development of our students and tools for our teachers and staff. Parental support and encouragement of academic success is very important so every effort is made to establish and maintain communication between home and school. The reading program incorporates a balanced literacy approach that includes the following components: read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, literature study, and independent reading. A wide range of literary genres and other materials are used, and instruction varies from full class to small groups to individualized work. Students are taught to understand mathematics by communicating and reasoning mathematically, by applying mathematics in real-world settings and by solving problems through the integrated study of number systems, geometry, measurement, probability, data collection and analysis.
