Milton School teachers have high expectations, yet are caring and willing to provide appropriate programs for children at all levels of learning. The instruction provided to the students is characterized by a child-centered philosophy that recognizes that each individual is unique. Milton School teachers have a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and personalities and come to the classroom with multiple teaching methods, techniques and styles. But every teacher shares the goal of success for all students. Teachers are constantly working not only to differentiate for the needs of each child, but also on their own professional development.
The staff takes full advantage of opportunities to attend courses and workshops that add to their repertoire of teaching skills. Students at Milton School enjoy the academic programs are geared toward the mastery of language arts, reading, social studies, science, mathematics, and study and critical thinking skills. Writing journals and portfolios are maintained by all students. Math enrichment is available for eligible students. Art, computer, music, library skills, and physical education are taught at each grade level.
