This New York public school is governed by the Amsterdam City School District in Montgomery County. The Marie Curie goal is for every student to achieve his or her greatest potential. MCI offers numerous programs and events to provide extra help where needed and additional opportunities to expand each child’s future.
Marie Curie Eastside Elementary School was built in 1975 as an open-concept school. The original mascot was the Polish Falcon in honor of the school's namesake, Marie Curie. During the summer of 1996, the building was completely renovated, replacing the open-concept structure with more traditional classrooms. At that time, the students chose a new school mascot, the Marie Curie Wildcat. In 2007, our school became the district's second magnet school - Marie Curie Institute of Engineering & Communications.
The students at the Marie Curie Institute will be successful, critical thinkers and real world problem solvers, who can effectively communicate their thoughts and ideas.
Marie Curie Eastside Elementary School is one of excellence in the state of New York in rural education and as long as the community, parents, teachers, and staff work together to develop the intellectual, social, moral, and physical development of each student, it will keeps its reputation.
