Manhattan School for Career Development works to develop disabled young adults. They do this by facilitating their acquisition of specific work and academic skills, appropriate work habits and critical thinking abilities. In order to accomplish this task, they believe that students are entitled to participate in community-based work experiences to ensure a successful transition to competitive employment. They believe that a systematically controlled work experience opportunity in collaboration with the public private sectors, supported by an on-site special education professional will optimize the student’s capacity to achieve and maintain integrated community- based work.
