Mahopac Falls Elementary School is located at 100 Myrtle Avenue Mahopac, NY. Putnam County is situated in the southeastern part of New York State, between the Hudson River on its west and the New York-Connecticut border on its east. Putnam is southeast of Newburgh, and it is north of White Plains. The county has six public school districts: Brewster, Carmel, Garrison, Haldane, Mahopac, and Putnam Valley. Mahopac is the largest school district in Putnam County, educating more than 5,000 students in four elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. This New York Public School serves grades K in Putnam County of New York State.

Their program utilizes hands-on experiences while seeking to promote thinking skills. The program promotes a sequential learning environment, and has been in use in the district for a number of years. The mathematics component in our program focuses on a variety of topics, some of which include patterns, money and time. Our science component consists of individual units focusing on fabrics and the five senses. We incorporate a balanced literacy approach to learning and utilize techniques such as daily journal writing, writer's workshop, and writer's portfolio.

The Waterford Early Reading Program is a comprehensive early intervention curriculum. With three levels for emergent, beginning, and fluent readers, it is designed to overcome obstacles to literacy development early so that all children can learn to read. Children are engaged in a variety of reading and listening activities on the computer. In addition, the program provides classroom materials that reinforce concepts learned through small books and videos.
