J.H.S. 292 Margaret S. Douglas This includes the use of a broad range of technologies, a research-based reading program, as well as a wide variety of strategies to accommodate the learning needs of each individual child, whether that is the need of remedial help, or advanced learning opportunities. Safety and security of the students is a very high priority. Second to that priority is the development of each student’s literacy skills. J.H.S. 292 believe that once achieving a sound ability to read, write, speak and listen, students will be more successful learners in all other subject areas. As facilitators of learning, Margaret S. Douglas teachers use a variety of strategies to enhance academic achievement, address the diverse needs of students, and maintain a favorable learning environment that provides each student an opportunity to apply that knowledge.
