Iroquois Intermediate School is located at 2111 Girdle Road Elma, NY. Iroquois Intermediate is apart of the Iroquois Central School District and provides education for grades 4 through 5 in Erie County, Located in New York State. Students receive a challenging education in an environment that recognizes the individual differences and needs of each child. The staff strives to build respect and character education into our instructional program. Teachers work collaboratively at all grade levels to provide an exciting and rewarding education for our students.
This school focuses to establish a foundation of friendship and acceptance of diversity. The teachers and other staff members help students understand that people learn in different ways, which supports the discovery of their own learning styles while fostering independence.
They also engage students in a variety of hands-on activities that promote critical thinking skills and experimentation. This provides opportunities for students to expand their observation skills in science through science kits and Growing Healthy units. Social Studies reflect local and state history as well as comparative studies of Latin America, Canada and the United States. The strong foundation from the Primary Schools in reading, writing, listening and speaking skills along with math skills are extended and enhanced at the Intermediate level.
