Hagan Elementary School is located at 42 Hagan Drive in Poughkeepsie, New York. The school provides a quality education for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

The mission statement of Hagan Elementary School is "This school will provide a safe, caring environment where all students get along in a cooperative manner."

Hagan Elementary School has adopted a character education program with an object to improve basic manners through the school population. The staff and teachers have decided on five basic expectations, which are known as "Hagan's Essential Five". "Hagan’s Essential Five” are as follows:
"Students will be expected to…Address all adults by name [or ma'am and sir at the teacher’s discretion]. Give people eye contact when they are speaking to you. Say please, thank you, and I’m sorry when appropriate. Display proper hall walking, assembly and cafeteria behavior, and door etiquette. Perform random acts of kindness."

The staff at Hagan Elementary School is comprised of skilled and caring professionals who are dedicated to the academic, social, and emotional development of all students attending their school. Students are taught the importance of developing good citizenry, recognizing individual differences, and the importance of having concern for others. The teachers strive to encourage the growth of each student to ensure self-esteem so each student can become positive contributors to their community and society as a whole.
