Fort Stanwix School is a thriving elementary school of 250 children located in the center of the City of Rome, NY. It is a neighborhood school where most of the children live within walking distance. We have the richness of a diverse population, strong teachers and a hard working and generous PTG. Fort Stanwix teachers are highly motivated, experienced professionals who are committed to improving student learning. They analyze assessment data to find areas where their teaching can be improved and work year round to create instructional units and lessons to engage children in substantial learning. Recently, our New York State Assessment scores have increased significantly in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
