Elmira Alternative High School offers a curriculum and methods that are not traditional with a flexible schedule that allows students to learn in a more relaxed environment that caters to their own unique learning abilities. The classrooms are small with a 10:1 student/teacher ratio allowing more one on one with students to provide a better education. With smaller classrooms, students can excel, as there are less distractions while becoming close friends with other students, faculty, and staff.

All basic educational courses are taught with the student in mind while teaching politics or other non-traditional courses. Students achieve a quality education with the best educational tools in a smaller and more personal atmosphere than traditional schools. Music, art, and physical education are the utmost important at Elmira Alternative High School where children can excel with all their talents instead of just the basic classes. Students at Elmira Alternative High School enjoy the smaller classrooms while the community works along side the staff and teachers to ensure a safe and secure learning atmosphere.
