At Canandaigua Academy, the goal is to bring each student to full potential, both in character and curiosity, instilling in them a commitment to excellence and participation. It offers a tradition of academic excellence, athletic accomplishment and artistic achievement. The Academy hosts a comprehensive program geared to meet the needs of all of its students. Standards and expectations are high. The staff seeks to work with parents and community to build a partnership which ensures student success.

The Academy offers an exceptional selection of special experiences. Students may choose from numerous academic electives, clubs, athletic programs, internships and social functions. All aim to contribute to the total development of a young adult.
Through the years, Academy graduates have distinguished themselves time and time again. 81% of the Class of 2006 is pursuing further education. 88% of the graduating class earned Regents Diplomas; 56% of those were with Honors. CA also graduated 13 International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates in 2006.

The school wishes all students to be safe, engaging environment that values all members of the community and encourages them to pursue their full potential as life-long learners and respectful citizens. The teachers make every effort to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. Parents with children attending this public School enjoy the fact the district have small classrooms, caring, dedicated teachers, and the desire of the school for parent involvement. Parents are welcome to visit anytime and even enjoy eating lunch with their child or help in the classroom.
