Andrew J. Smith Elementary School is located at 26 Homer Street Union Springs, NY. The school is a wonderful place for intermediate student’s grades 4-6 to learn and advance their educations. It is one of three buildings in the Union Springs Central School District. Physical Education, Instrumental Music, Choral Music, Art, and Library Studies are taught by professional teachers who want each child to reach their potential for learning. The Computer Lab is well equipped with over 25 computers that students receive instructions on. Social Worker, Psychologist, and the school Nurse are also available at Andrew J. Smith Elementary School.

There are approximately 10 homeroom sections at Andrew J. Smith Elementary that services Grades 4-6th. Students that require Special Education are directed through the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES for classes. Union Springs at one time had a considerable reputation as a health resort located on a bay of the east shore of Cayuga Lake, longest of the Finger Lakes. The name is derived from the many springs within its boundaries. Two of the largest, dammed to form ponds, were the source of power for the earliest industries.
