West Valley is a rural community located in Cattaraugus County and this district provides education to grades Pre-K through 12th in one Facility. The first white settlement in the county was made by Quakers in 1798 that were on a mission to the Senecas Indians that lived in this region. All students that attend this school district will learn to read, write, listen and speak for information and understanding in English Language Arts. Art classes that are available for students include; dance, music, theatre and visual arts.

The West Valley Central School District wants all students to understand Math and become mathematically confident by communicating and reasoning mathematically, by applying mathematics in real-world settings, and by solving problems through the integrated study of number systems, geometry, algebra, data analysis, probability, and trigonometry. Students have an opportunity to receive a regent diploma by scoring 65 or higher on the test subjects. Comprehensive English Language Arts, Global History and Geography, U.S. History and Government, Math A, Science with lab.

Teachers in the West Valley Central School District work to create an educational atmosphere in which each student is provided with the opportunity to realize their full potential as students, athletes, artists, musicians, and individuals through personal attention and encouragement. The districts curriculum has been developed to challenge and stimulate the minds of students and keep them up to State standards of learning.
