Valley Central School District is located at 944 State Route 17K Montgomery, NY and it serves grades K-12 in Orange County. The mission of the Valley Central School Community is to develop responsible and productive members of society in a safe and innovative environment, where students are motivated to think critically, communicate effectively, and achieve excellence. The Technology Department is constantly striving to enhance the skills and abilities of the teachers in the area of technology integration. Through staff development, committee based discussions and budgetary support they attempt to improve the technology offerings available to the student body.

In the long term plan, it is their goal that teachers will become more comfortable with the technology made available to them and begin to integrate it as part of their day to day instruction. It is a personal goal of mine to get away from the opinion that technology is something all teachers must suddenly “teach”. This can not be further from the truth. What is important is that teachers utilize technology to enhance the material they are already charged with delivering. By integrating technology into their day to day teaching they will lead by example, and illustrate to the students of Valley Central that technology is just another tool in the arsenal of equipment available to be effective in the career of their choice.

The Valley Central School District has seven schools: the High School/Middle School complex, Montgomery Elementary, Walden Elementary, Berea Elementary, East Coldenham Elementary, and Maybrook Elementary schools. The district serves a growing community of residents who live and work in and near this suburban area within commuting distance of New York City.
