Stamford Central School District is located at 1 River Street in Stamford, New York. Stamford Central School District is home in the northern Catskills Mountains in Delaware County, New York. The small rural area is only 30 minutes from Oneonta and about 1½ hours from Albany, New York. A few farms dot the community, but the largest employers in the area are Catskill Craftsmen, Robinson Terrace, Mallinckrodt, and AudioSears Corporation. The Stamford Central School District is home to one school Stamford Central School that provides a quality education for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Class sizes are under 20 students per class and give the students a close-knit relationship with their classmates, teachers, and staff.

Mission of the district is divided into five major topics, which are learning, self-esteem, environment, community, and assessment.

Community: Each child's academic and social development is enhanced by an actively participating community. All partners are encouraged to pursue a life-long learning. Assessment: Assessment must be continual, subject to periodic review and focused on:
1. The educational process to determine its consistency with our mission statement and beliefs.
2. Our mission statement and beliefs in light of changing educational needs.
3. The individual participants to determine if their educational needs are being met."
