Rensselaer City School District is located at 555 Broadway Rensselaer, NY and serves grades PK-12. The district mission is to ensure that all graduates are individuals who undertake challenges, believe in themselves, accept learning as a lifelong process, and determine their own futures by creating for these individuals an environment committed to the growth, enjoyment, and success of the individual where all people show mutual respect for the contributions of others. Some of the Noted Clubs: Student Council is responsible for planning and conducting many of the social activities at the Middle/High School.

They are in charge of Homecoming activities, Middle School Spring Fling, Christmas and Easter activities at Van Rensselaer Elementary School, etc. The Student Council coordinates all fundraising activities. Their National Honor Society is a national program to recognize and celebrate the juniors and seniors in high school who have demonstrated high academic achievement. To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 88% or above. Additionally, potential members will be evaluated on their Leadership, Character, and Service qualities. Complete Tower Chapter By-Laws may be obtained at the High School.

Families arriving to the area with school age children will be pleased to hear that the school offers an idea learning environment with small class sizes, positive community support, individual attention, and encouragement which help all students and staff members strive for excellence. The staffs of teachers and other officials work closely with parents and the entire community to provide the best education possible for students.
