Pocantico Hills Schools

Pocantico Hills Central School District has five elected Board of Education Trustees, each serving a rotating three-year term. Each Board Trustee has an equal vote on all issues. The Board President and Vice President are elected by the School Board for one year of service. The meeting of the Board of Education is a meeting of the Board Trustees to discuss agenda items, vote on key decisions, hear key progress reports, and raise issues for discussion among Board Trustees and the superintendent.

Pocantico Hills Central School District is committed to the principle of continuous progress through ongoing review and assessment. Curriculum review cycles allow for in depth study and evaluation of subject areas and textbooks every four-five years. The curriculum is based on New York State learning standards, has been completed for English/Language Arts and is being developed for math. The guide posts are designed to ensure the continuum of skills between grade levels and to address any skill gaps in the curriculum.
