New York City District # 7 is an enormous New York public school system that serves a diverse student population. Policies of District # 7 are set forth and advised by the New York City Department of Education. The district works to teach with in the outlines of the No Child Left behind Act. At the present time more than half of the students in # 7 are scoring below the national average in reading and math. So teachers and other members in the district are planning and making efforts to deal with these low score averages. District efforts are directed toward providing students a solid education so they can go to college; get good jobs; and lead productive, successful lives.
