An active parent community brings together thousands of volunteers into city schools for a variety of classroom-enhancing activities. A well-established link between business and schools attracts mentors from area corporations into schools to sponsor children and strengthen business-education ties. District #18 offers a comprehensive academic, inter-scholastic, and extra-curricular program. The District also has an outstanding music program that regularly wins awards and regional competitions.
