Norwich City Schools

Norwich City School District is located at 19 Eaton Avenue Norwich, NY. This district provides education for grades PK through 12 for the community of Norwich, that is
one of seven City-Central school districts in New York State. The area has scenic open spaces and surrounding farms and forests with tree lined streets, plentiful parks, multi-storied downtown shops, and quiet neighborhoods. Norwich is miles from the hustle, busy, congestion of the sprawling Northeast metropolises; yet, as close to the world as this screen. The cities of the Northeast US and Southeast Canada all lay within a few hours drive.

The City School District was created in 1954 through consolidation of twenty-one common school districts with that of the City of Norwich. The community’s cultural diversity includes an active Chamber of Commerce, Council of the Arts, dance academies and a newly built YMCA. Norwich is within driving distance to such SUNY colleges as SUNY Morrisville, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Cortland, as well as having an extension of SUNY Morrisville located in Norwich. Colleges and Universities within driving distance include Colgate University, Syracuse University, Hartwick College and Hamilton College.

The School District is well organized and offers PreK-3, 4-6, 7-8, 9-12 plan with students attending a full-day kindergarten and six years of elementary school, followed by two years of middle school and a four-year high school program.
