Mamaroneck Schools

Mamaroneck Union Free School District is located at 1000 West Boston Post Road Mamaroneck, NY serving grades PK-12 in Westchester County. It is on the Long Island Sound in the southern part of Westchester County between the cities of New Rochelle and Rye, about 23 miles northeast of New York City. The district's 9 miles include the village of Larchmont, almost all of the Town of Mamaroneck, and half of the Village of Mamaroneck. The community's 35,000 residents have a long history of support for the schools.

One of the major priorities for the Mamaroneck Public Schools is insuring that students are engaged in learning through a rich curriculum that is consistent from teacher to teacher and across schools, and coherent both within a grade and as students progress through the system. This Curriculum Guide provides you an overview of the curriculum by major discipline and by grade for all our elementary schools. While officials are delighted to have this work nicely printed and bound, they also consider it a work in progress; they are always rethinking what we teach and how we teach to insure that your children have truly engaging experiences in our schools.

The Mamaroneck Union Free School District invites parents to look at their child’s work and see what our curriculum looks like in practice. While they are proud of their consistency, they also know that the excellence of our elementary program is in large measure due to the unique talents and approaches of our very committed professional staff. Their work with your children in the classrooms, and with parents partnership, is what makes their elementary schools a dynamic learning environment for children.
