Lawrence Union Free School District Board of Education consists of seven members elected by community residents. Members of the Board receive no pay and serve three-year terms which overlap. The Superintendent of Schools is charged with the responsibility of establishing regulations and implementing Board policies. Under the Superintendent, the Offices of Business, Curriculum, Community Services and Personnel serve as a resource for the building principals, teachers and support staff to ensure quality education for students.

The Lawrence Union Free School District is using a program called Bond. The Program establishes a safe and secure setting conducive to learning about the individual and those around him/her. While academic success is the main thrust of the program, and the ultimate goal, community service, group work, and active participation in BOND events are requirements that must be fulfilled to remain in the program.
