This public New York School District provides education for grades K through 12 for the community of Lancaster, Cheektowaga, Elma and village of Depew. Today, the town and its two villages, Lancaster and Depew, are among the safest communities in the nation. They provide a wide range of housing choices, social and cultural opportunities, with extensive services for the youth and elderly. Residents are employed in a diverse economy.

The Lancaster Central School District has been recognized as one of the top 100 communities in America for music education. It was host of the 2003 National Association of Student Council's Annual Conference.

Teachers and other school officials are focused on student achievement. The staff collects and studies assessment data and uses it to adjust curriculum and/or instruction. District needs in curriculum and instruction are constantly evaluated. Our Comprehensive District Education Plan is the tool used for assessing needs and developing strategies for improving student achievement.
