Speculator, New York is a village found in Hamilton County within the town of Lake Pleasant lying on the north end of the Lake. Speculator is home in what is known as Adirondack Park. At one time, the village was known by Newtons Corners; however, the name was changed to honor the Speculator Mountains and became incorporated in 1925.

The Board of Education in Lake Pleasant Central School District is “committed to providing a safe and orderly school environment where students may receive and district personnel may deliver quality educational services without disruption or interference.
