Kendall Schools

Kendall Central School District is located at 1932 Kendall Road Kendall, NY and it serves grades K-12 in Orleans County. The mission of the Kendall School District is to provide the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes needed by students to live responsibly and to compete in today's and tomorrow's world.

Students are receiving Academic Intervention Services (AIS). New York State mandates that school districts provide extra help to any students who may not meet state standards. One way that New York State measures “meeting state standards” is through testing in the areas of English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. This state testing begins in third grade. If teachers think that your child may not be able to pass the state ELA and/or math exam, or if your child is not within grade level range on literacy level testing, extra help will be provided. This extra help or practice may only last a short time, or it could last all year, depending on your child's needs.

The primary functions of the Kendall Central School District Board are to develop the broader, longer range goals and plans (called policies) which determine the basic framework for the educational programs, services, and facilities to be offered to the youth of the community. NYS laws and regulations place the responsibility for carrying out educational mandates with a board of education. Even though elected locally, a school board is technically an official state body.
