Iroquois Schools

Iroquois Central School District is located at 2111 Girdle Road Elma, NY. This public school district provides education for grades K through 12. The Iroquois Central School District spans approximately 84 square miles within the Towns of Elma, Marilla, Wales, Aurora, Lancaster and Bennington. It is located approximately fourteen miles southeast of Buffalo in Erie County.

The Iroquois Central School District has a high level of parent and community involvement. Residents participate in Site Based Management Teams, volunteer programs and school advisory committees. Parents and community members participate in monthly meetings with the Superintendent and are encouraged to attend board of education meetings. The Board of Education stresses the importance of shared-decision making at all levels of district operation.

Incorporated in April of 1857 the Town of Elma was split from the Towns of Aurora and Lancaster. Encompassing 36 square miles with two major waterways, the Buffalo Creek and Cazenovia Creek, Elma sits squarely in the center of Erie County and can safely call itself the Heart of Erie County. Over 11,304 residents call Elma home, as does Iroquois Central School, one of Western New York’s top rated school systems, and Elma Meadows Golf Course, one of Erie County’s top public courses.

Residents enjoy spending time with their family and friends at two of Elma's parks, the Elma Village Green and Creek Road Park. There are also athletic fields, a Senior Center, Town Museum, and Public Library. There is a wealth of treasures in Elma, some historic, some educational, and others just plain fun.
