Hamilton Central School District is located at 47 West Kendrick Avenue Hamilton, NY. This New York public school district provides out standing educational opportunities to the local community in Madison County, for grades K through 12.

Hamilton Central School, one of the oldest central school districts in the state, first operated as a central school in 1926-27. Common school districts have been annexed over the years with the present district now located in five townships (Hamilton, Eaton, Madison, Lebanon, and Brookfield).

The school is located on a 45-acre site off West Kendrick Avenue in the Village of Hamilton. It includes a modern junior/ senior high school building completed in 1958, an elementary school addition completed in 1966, and a bus garage constructed in 1949. Capital projects were completed in 1990 and 1998, which provided additional classroom space, computer and science labs, music rooms, additional gymnasium and improvement in the infra-structure. The K-12 school building contains two gymnasiums, a 724-seat auditorium, music rooms, high school library, elementary library, and cafeteria. The bus garage building contains maintenance facilities for the District’s bus fleet.

The 2005-06 student enrollments of 683 students is supported by an approved budget of $9,083,189. There are currently 70 faculty members which provide a very favorable student/teacher ratio of 10:1. Average class sizes for elementary and core secondary subjects range from 14-21. The District’s current state aid ratio is 50 percent. After steady growth in the 90's, the school population has been declining for the past six years. Residents have been very supportive of the District’s programs with voter approval of school budgets annually since 1975.
