Grand Island Schools

Grand Island Central School District is located at 1100 Ransom Road Grand Island, NY. This public school system is continually ranked as one of the top ten year after year among comparable districts in the State of New York. The District has a high rate of participation in a well-rounded program of team and individual sports. As students move from level to level, the process of selection may become more competitive. The Grand Island Central School District provides wonderful education opportunities for students attending in grades K-12 in Erie County, of New York State.

Sports are abundant in this district that offers over 50 teams in 42 different sports (including varsity, junior varsity and modified programs). Our teams and students participate in the Niagara Frontier League, Section VI and New York State competitions. Many teams have been recognized for their team grade point average in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Team Scholar-Athlete program. Technology is focused on providing high-quality learning resources in all classrooms and facilitating communication between all learners.

The Town of Grand Island is situated in the Niagara River and contains an area of 17,381 acres of good agricultural land. Up to about the year 1834 it was mostly covered with a heavy growth of timber. At its southern extremity and separated from it by the small arm of Beaver Creek, is Beaver Island, containing forty acres. The scenery on and around this great island is grandly picturesque and has aided in making it a popular resort.
