Education is provided for grade levels K-12 and the district has three facilities which consist of Gowanda High School, Gowanda Middle School, and Gowanda Elementary School. The Seneca Nation of Indians also attends this district for educational services. Schools within this district encompass the Village of Gowanda and the Town of Perrysburg. Technology is constantly up-dated to ensure that all students are learning the most advanced core curriculum. Other programs offered are technology, home & careers, performing arts, student clubs, and interscholastic athletics.

Gowanda Central School District music programs have been recognized within the region and national as well. This district offers strong support for students with special needs, and all three of the schools are fully equipped to meet this need at all grade levels. Parents will find strong support from the community, not just in education but also athletics and performing arts. The local community is filled with hills and forest and people who live in this area enjoy the outdoors. Whitewater rafting is popular in the spring and summer months down the Cattaraugus. There are plenty of restaurants and other stores in the area and the home in the area are farm-styled and Victorian.
