William Appleby Elementary School is located at Albro Road Marathon, NY. The school is a wonderful place for student’s grades K-6 to learn and advance their educations. The staff and teachers all know how important learning to read and spell is, especially for these young students. Teachers make every attempt is made to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. The school works alongside staff, parents, and students to achieve greater success in all fields of study while providing a friendly atmosphere for students to learn.
William Appleby Elementary School services the Village of Marathon, the Town of Marathon, and the surrounding townships. It is situated approximately 30 miles north of Binghamton and fifteen miles south of Cortland on Interstate Route 81. The community is primarily rural, encompassing some 102 square miles. Grades that attend this High school are K through 6th.
Most every year this school receives excellent State Education Department School Report Cards. Student test results are consistently among the top in every academic area. The Local community continues to supports programs such as the local library, local churches, and community service organizations. The community spirit has promoted a sense of commitment to the school district, which serves as a community center and a source of pride for all.
