West Middle School is located on West Middle Avenue in Binghamton, New York and provides a quality education to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. West Middle School provides each student with an accelerated math curriculum along with an accelerated foreign language curriculum to help stimulate and develop the students own interests and abilities. The classroom setting is unlike other schools in the state of New York as they provide classroom vocal and instrumental music programs, art, home, careers, and technology programs.
All Binghamton City Schools realize that athletics is a huge part of student’s development and offer extensive interscholastic athletics at various levels.
Students at West Middle School achieved better than average performance scores during the last school year in English Language Arts for all grades, Mathematics for grades 7th and 8th with 6th only 3 points behind the state average, and Science scores at least 5 points above state average for all grades.
West Middle School has their own instrument band, which performs at various functions throughout the school year to the enjoyment of the students, parents, and community alike.
The staff, parents, and students take pride in the various educational avenues that are provided for each student to furnish them with a head start in life through community involvement, self worth, and the desire for higher education.
