Wantagh Middle School builds on the foundation of the elementary school experience; it is also their goal to provide an expanded foundation for students’ successful transition to the high school. They share a campus with the High School and this proximity facilitates their ability to make that move as seamless and stress-less as possible for all students. The process approach to writing continues. Proofreading and editing skills are emphasized and students write stories, essays, poems and news articles. They learn how to communicate their experiences and needs through letter writing. Their writing demonstrates appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling. Writing is well organized, and pieces have an introductory paragraph, a body and a conclusion.
The Wantagh Middle School has a long-standing set of expectations for conduct on school property and at school functions. These expectations are based on the principles
of civility, mutual respect, citizenship, character, tolerance, honesty and integrity.
