Walnut Street Elementary School staff and teachers strive to create a learning environment that will promote self-esteem, respect for others, and an appreciation of learning to each student. Along with this, the teachers and staff are committed to a high level of professionalism while creating an educational atmosphere with values that support communication. Academic Intervention Services are intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving the State learning standards in English language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, or who are at risk of not gaining the knowledge and skills needed to meet or exceed designated performance levels on State assessments. The additional instruction and/or support are provided in various school settings.
