Vernon School is in good standing reported by the State. A school in good standing in New York is one that has not been identified as a School in Need of Improvement, in Corrective Action, Planning for Restructuring, Restructuring, Requiring Academic Progress, or as a School Under Registration Review. They offer a challenge to all levels of ability, and provide the individual support necessary through programs for the gifted, and support services for others. Vernon School teachers participate in ongoing training which sharpens their skills and expands their fund of knowledge.
At Vernon School their mission statement also reflects their dedication to the personal and social needs of the students. These needs are evidenced in character education, extensive "special" programs and curricula, and a highly effective support staff. Through individual and group support services they nurture each child in ways that are unique and focused.
