The academic program offered at Valley Stream Central High School is one that will challenge every student to succeed with a wide range of courses such as Advanced Placement course to other resources. All staff and teachers strive to promote an educational environment in which all children will excel at his or her level of ability to become concerned citizens of the community. Along with providing an excellent curriculum, the school provides various activities to help students learn to work alone and on a team including such activities as student council, Foreign Language Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Wings Literary Magazine, Computer Club, Future Medical Leaders, and Homework Club to name a few.
Along with the above activities, Valley Stream Central High School is home to many sports teams, which instill the ability of learning to work together towards a specific goal. A few of the sports team include soccer, cross country track, football, basketball, and baseball.
