Uniondale High School students are assigned a guidance counselor. A student will work with the same counselor for both years if at all possible. Counselors will be meeting with students individually and in groups. If students have any problem academically, socially or personally, the counselors encourage them to visit the guidance office and discuss the problem. One of the things that make the Uniondale High School so special is that students are on an academic team. Each team - designated by the colors red, white, and blue - has a core of teachers that meet every other day with the team's guidance counselor. They talk about the students' progress, upcoming lessons and tests, and any other topics that help them reach their goal of meeting all children's needs. Students at the Uniondale High School have a wide range of opportunities, from academics to the arts and athletics.
