Truman Elementary School is committed to the mission of providing every student with the educational opportunities needed to be productive citizens in our ever-changing society.

Truman Elementary School was constructed in 1966; the facility has undergone many grade modifications. Currently it houses Pre-Kindergarten through second grade students; the staff, parents, and community are diligently working to maintain a safe positive learning environment for these young children.

Reading First, reading instruction based on the latest scientifically based research, is designed to ensure that every child can read at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Teachers and students in Grades PK through 2 participate in this program that provides students with new reading texts and related supplemental and intervention materials and provides teachers with extensive training in the latest, research-based and proven reading instructional practices.
