Thousand Islands Middle School is located at 8487 County Route 9 Clayton, NY and provides education for grades 6 through 8. Thousand Islands Middle School makes every attempt is made to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. The school works alongside staff, parents, and students to achieve greater success in all fields of study while providing a friendly atmosphere for students to learn.
The school recognizes the importance of a balanced and well-rounded education. An emphasis on the appreciation of fine arts will be an integral part of the curriculum and electives in music and art will be offered. The physical education department will focus on the importance of fitness and the development of a healthful lifestyle. Through team sports, cooperative games, and individualized fitness programs the physical education programs will teach students cooperation, sportsmanship, and how to form life long habits of healthful living.
Thousand Islands Middle School they intend to educate all of the students to be “problem solvers, able to access and use information, make decisions in an information-rich environment, and communicate effectively as they live and work successfully in our global society”.
The staff works to create an educational atmosphere in which each student is provided with the opportunity to realize their full potential as students, athletes, artists, musicians, and individuals through personal attention and encouragement.
